Beach Hair 101: A new topknot

The beloved topknot. Messy, but at times, blah. Time to spruce it up a bit. A while ago I saw this hairdo…and I finally figured it out (2 days ago). Yup. I found a new go-to messy ‘do for summer. 

The upside down french braid keeps your neck cool but gives you volume, and hey, anytime you can incorporate a braid into a your hair is a good thing.

So here you go. Give it a whirl…

Clean

Just completely cleaned out my cupboard of everything- anything with grains, and everything artificial. I kept my coconut oil, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, almonds, and eggs. At the grocery store I got:

broccoli

spinach

cucumber

avocado

tomatoes

grass fed beef

wild scallops

wild salmon

local cage-free eggs

and stuff for a birthday cake for my roommate who’s turning 21 tomorrow, but I won’t be eating any of that

I am going strictly into eating a “raw” diet. It is my own definition of a raw diet. Basically a whole lot of veggies and meat with a little fruit and nuts and a weekly fast. As soon as finals are over I am going to get serious into weight lifting but no machines for me, only free weights and the barbell. This summer I am going to get fit. No excuses. 

I was going to wait until next week to start the whole raw thing but I am done putting it off. I have been eating crap for the past couple of weeks and it definitely shows. I really don’t want to drink tonight anyways but if I do I’m only going to have a couple shots no mixers lol. I doubt that’ll happen though because I went way too hard last weekend and I don’t think my body can handle any alcohol right now. 

Today

I started a three day fast last night at ten. It should be easy to get through today because I am going to be really busy. 

I am about to leave to go get my hair done. I am getting a cut and color which is exciting because I have never colored my hair before. I’m getting it done ombre though so its not really any commitment to upkeep. I thought it would be cute for summer :)

After that I have work at a Japanese steakhouse that I just got a job at a couple weeks ago. Hopefully the food won’t tempt me too much. I will have my iced tea there so I should be fine. I’m looking forward to enjoying some sushi when I work on Friday though.

I am doing this fast because I really want to be down under 130 soon. It sucks that I haven’t been keeping up with eating well. I’m hoping to get under 130 and then start lifting to get my back and shoulders toned and hopefully lose another 10 lbs. I’m not so much worried about the weight, I just want to be smaller. I need to get a new pair of jeans but I want to wait until I lose at least 10.

I’ll maybe post a pic of my hair later. Hopefully it turns out well. I’m kinda nervous.
